AASHIANAA DAY :
The annual day for the school was conducted. Various cultural programmes such as dance, skits, fancy dress were performed by the children as well as parents. |

VISIT TO C.F.T.R.I :
A programme on basic food preparations such as sambhar powder etc was conducted in which the children participated. |

NATIONAL WORKSHOP ON SPORTS :
A national workshop on sports for children with special needs was conducted by All India Institute of Speech and Hearing. The programmes held were: Relevance of sports /special Olympics, practical’s of badminton etc. |

The staff of the school attended the inauguration of a book written by a psychiatrist based on her experiences. |

BLANKET DISTRIBUTION :
25 Kashmiri blankets were distributed to the children of Aashianaa by one of the trustees, Mr Sridhar Kumar Bhagvath. |

IFTHIYAR PARTY :
An ifthiyar party was organised by the wife of a late trustee member for all the children, parents staff and current trustees of Ashianaa. |

INDEPENDENCE DAY :
Independence Day was celebrated at the school campus. The programmes involved flag hoisting, National anthem and singing patriotic songs. Sweets and sweaters were distributed to all the children by the trustees. |

VISIT TO NIRIKSHE SPECIAL SCHOOL :
Nirikshe special school conducted a workshop for teachers in lieu of their 10th anniversary celebrations which was attended by the staff members of Aashianaa.
A seminar on “Communication” was conducted by Mrs Jayashree Mukund, and a talk on “Stress” was held by psychology lecturer , Mrs Vinaya. |

VISIT FROM STAFF AND STUDENTS OF DE PAUL FIRST GRADE COLLEGE :
T he staff and students of De Paul first Grade College visited the Aashianaa campus. The various activities held at the school were explained to the students by the principal. The children also interacted with the children and participated in the various activities. |

The deputy director, corporation officer of Hellen Keller Teacher’s Training Centre, Tilaknagar, Mysore donated a computer and its accessories to the school. |

The Hellen Keller teacher’s training centre conducted seminars on “RTE Act”, by Geetha N, assistant project coordinator, Sarva Shikshana Abhiysna, Mysore and “Disability” by Mr Venkatesan, professor of pshycology dept; AIISH, Mysore, which was attended by Mrs Fazilath. |

A programme for children’s day was conducted by the Mysore Heritage Round Table 109,Ladies cirlcle, Mysore at the Jayamma Govinde Gowda Choultry, Kuvempunagar, Mysore.
They conducted various games and drawing competitions for the children and also awarded prizes. |
